Bartolacci is a traditional pasta dish hailing from the Romagna region of Italy, particularly associated with the areas around Forlì and Cesena. The dish features a unique pasta shape that resembles a small, half-moon or crescent, somewhat like a folded ravioli. Bartolacci are typically filled with a mixture of ingredients such as potatoes, cheese (often a combination of ricotta and Parmigiano-Reggiano), and sometimes herbs or sautéed greens, depending on local variations.

After being filled, the pasta is sealed and then either boiled or pan-fried until golden brown and crisp. The pan-fried version, in particular, is a popular street food in the region and is often enjoyed on its own as a hearty snack or light meal. Bartolacci is known for its satisfying, comforting flavour, combining the richness of the filling with the delicate, crispy pasta shell. It embodies the rustic, home-cooked essence of Romagnolo cuisine.
